Sharing Nature With Joseph Cornell
May 9 and 10, 2008
Join the Environmental Education Association of Illinois (EEAI) for an evening with Joseph Cornell, world renowned author (Sharing Nature with Children series) and naturalist on Friday May 9 at the Lincoln Memorial Gardens and Nature Center in Springfield. EEAI will host this free Book Signing and Reception from 5:30 -7:30 pm and invites all members of the public to attend and broaden their environmental literacy through book purchases, signings and conversation. No registration for the book-signing and reception is necessary. Light refreshments (local and organic foods) will be served.

In addition, Lincoln Memorial Garden and Nature Center and Montessori Children’s House of Springfield are honored to host two 7-hour nature awareness workshops with Cornell at their respective sites on Friday May 9 & 10. Register Now for IDNR ENTICE Professional Development Workshops
The following professional development workshops for teachers are being offered in the coming months by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Education through the ENTICE (Environment and Nature Training Institute for Conservation Education) program. Continuing Professional Development Units are available for all of these workshops. For the first time, three of the workshops are being offered in an online version. ENTICE workshops provide background information about the topic presented by resources professionals, hands-on activities that can be instantly implemented into the classroom and many Illinois-specific supplemental materials to assist your teaching.
