SUMMARY:Virtual Teaching Climate eeCourse
DESCRIPTION:Starts December 16th\, asynchronous\, via Moodle. \nJoin EEAI for this online\, asynchronous\, course designed to provide grades 4-12 formal and non-formal educators with an introduction to environmental education and the skills necessary to integrate climate change environmental education into their classrooms\, homeschool classrooms\, and programs. Participants receive climate education teaching materials designed for educators which explore climate connections to water\, wildlife\, and natural resources. This is an entirely online course that will be held through an online classroom called Moodle. \nThanks to grant funding from the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois this course is offered for FREE to educators living and working in Stephenson\, Ogle\, Boone\, and Winnebago counties. DESCRIPTION:Starts January 6th\, asynchronous\, via Moodle. \n\nJoin EEAI for a virtual Earth Force Training! \nBecome fully trained in the Earth Force Community Action and Problem Solving Process to help your students/scouts/participants learn valuable skills in environmental action civics. This virtual training will walk through the full 6-step process of investigating environmental issues and developing student-led action projects and share more about the RISE Challenge. Upon completion of the training educators will have access to the implementation funding to support student led projects. \nThis training includes self-paced learning through EEAI’s Moodle site. In total about 4 hours of watching videos and reading through materials. Once you’ve completed the work on the Moodle site you’ll schedule one live virtual session with EEAI Program Coordinator to complete your training. \nThis program works well for formal and non-formal educators\, including after-school\, 4-H\, and Scout groups. Educators who complete the training can apply for project funding through the Earth Force Illinois program and/or go on to participate in the RISE Challenge during the 2025 Spring Semester. \n4 ISBE hours are available upon completion.
